Kelly Symonds
I know I haven't known Grandpa Webb for as long as many of you but the short years I did know him I see why my husband, Ben, thinks the way he does about him. My first thoughts of Grandpa Webb when I saw him was how much he reminded me of my grandfather, that passed away when I was 14, that I was very close to. Not only did he look like him, a big, tall, handsome man, but I could also tell he had the same big, kind heart as my grandfather. Shortly after hearing Ben talk about him and seeing how Grandpa was with and around Ben I could also tell Ben and Grandpa were as close as me and my grandfather were. He was a man of few words....but I can remember the last time I saw him was the last time he and GG came to Texas to stay with Sam & Annette, I remember after leaving that day from spending all day with everyone, I told Ben that I felt good because it was the most Grandpa had ever talked to me. I don't remember what we talked about but I remember we talked for a while and it just felt good having a conversation with someone like him that you know is so much more wise than I know I ever will be in a lifetime! I'm very happy to say he was at mine and Ben's wedding in 2005 and was able to meet his only great-grandchildren, Klayton, Karlea, & Karson many times! I will continue to pray for your families and carry the memories I have of him with me always. With love, Kelly Symonds (Ben's wife)
