James J. Hynes, 75, of Old State Rd., Morrisville, NY, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018.
He was born July 23, 1942 in Oneida, a son of the late Joseph and Frances Cowick Hynes and received his education in Peterboro schools. On July 10, 1965, James married Marion Frazier in Munnsville. She predeceased him on May 4, 2016. Jim had worked at Oneida Ltd. In Sherrill for 42 years until retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church in Morrisville.
Surviving are his children, Fran Hynes and Paul Greenwood of Lebanon; Jimmer Hynes and Joni Paul of Hamilton; Jodi and Rob Klish, Boomer and Sandy Hynes, all of Morrisville; grandchildren, Jake and Jamie Ammann, Matt Hynes, Lisa Ammann, Ryan Klish, Lorrin Hynes, Meghan Klish, Chris Hynes and Danny Hynes; great-grandchildren, Alayna Hynes, Adelea Hynes, Logan Hynes and Grayson Ammann; sisters and brothers-in-law, Diana and Darwin DeGroat of Clearwater, FL; Kathy Osborne of Largo, FL; Donna and Scott Griffin of Peterboro; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Julie Hynes of Springfield, GA; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his dear friends, Neal and Barb Wilcox of Morrisville. He was predeceased by a sister, Judy Peck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at St. Joan of Arc Church, Brookside Dr., Morrisville, followed by interment in the Peterboro Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville on Tuesday from 5-8pm.
