William H. Elliott, 88, of English Ave., Hamilton, NY, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Waterville Residential Care Center with his loving wife at his side.
William was born October 27, 1929, a son of Charles, Sr. and Marjorie Reeves Elliott. He was a graduate of Oneida High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio and Drama from Cornell University in Ithaca, where he participated in many plays. On May 19, 2015 William was wed to Alice Miller Terry in Hamilton.
He traveled the world while employed by Oneida Ltd., IBM, AT&T, BELL and Mobil Oil until his retirement. William was a member of the Ruritan Organization in Oneida and Munnsville, where he enjoyed singing. His passion for singing grew from his mother, who was a composer.
William is survived by his wife, Alice; step children Deborah (Emmett) Furgeson of Binghamton, Robert Terry of Hubbardsville, John (Jerrilyn) Terry of Hamilton and Ronald Terry and his partner Jack Fitch of Cazenovia; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. He is predeceased by step daughters Sharon Love and Kathy Thompkins; a brother, Charles Elliott, Jr.; and a sister, Elizabeth Alford.
A Memorial Service with military honors will be held at 11am Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Broad St., Hamilton, NY.
