Obituary for Frances M. Hurley (Long)

Frances M. Hurley, 92, formerly of Eaton, NY, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Chittenango.
She was born March 8, 1925 in Throop, NY, a daughter of Chester and Grace Bounds Long and received her education in local schools. On November 16, 1946, Frances married Daniel J. Hurley in Bradford, PA. He predeceased her on November 27, 1972. Frances had worked at the Harlen Valley Psychiatric Center in Poughkeepsie, NY, and then for 18 years at the Gerrit Smith Infirmary in Eaton until retiring in 1991.
She was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church in Morrisville. She was very devoted to her Catholic faith and taught catechism classes at one time. She passed her love for her religion on to her children with daily prayer.
Surviving are her children, Margaret Becker of Eaton; Mary (Patrick) Trumble of Phoenix, NY; Anne Novak of Sacramento, CA; Kathleen (Lawrence) Hurley-Caffrey of Cazenovia;
William (Laura) Hurley of Oneonta; Patrick Hurley of Morrisville; Timothy (Colleen) Hurley of Westmoreland; Michael (Roseanne) Hurley of Chittenango; a sister, Rosellen Clarkson of Pawling, NY; 25 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Chester Long.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 4-6pm.
Graveside services will be in the Morrisville Cemetery in the spring at the convenience of her family.
