Kathleen K. “Kathy” Sweet, 73, of Norwich, formerly of Smyrna and Earlville, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Chenango Memorial Residential Healthcare Facility in Norwich.
She was born October 29, 1944 in Harrisburg, PA, a daughter of Edward and Marilyn Baker Kovack and was a graduate of local schools. She married Hobart A. Sweet in 1980 at the First United Methodist Church in Smyrna. Kathy was a seamstress at Scranton Pants, had been a clerk at hotels in North Carolina, and was a bartender in Smyrna. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved cats, was a Wynona Judd fan and collected Waterford crystal.
Surviving are her children, Mark Sweet of Texas; Jack (Sara) Stranieri of Scranton, PA; Ronnie Sweet and companion Michele Pittman of Earlville; and Lauri Sweet of Columbus, NY; a brother, Eddie Kovack, Jr.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville, with Rev. James Moore officiating, followed by interment in West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne.
