Linda Heald ten Hope
April 14, 1933 - April 27, 2017
HAMILTON, NY: Linda ten Hope passed away at sunrise in her family's loving arms after living life with joy and accepting death with peace and grace.
Her husband, family and friends treasured and adored her. She showered family with unconditional love and was kind to everyone she met. Her thoughtfulness and generosity knew no bounds.
Her greatest joys were her husband Jack, her high school sweetheart and husband of 63 years, her four children and 9 grandchildren: Laurie ten Hope and Martine Carlton; Sharon and Chris Funkhouser and children Sara, Jeremy, Bethany and Jasmine; John and Marilyn ten Hope and daughters Merritt and Haley; and Paul ten Hope and his children Kiely, Jack and Willy.
Linda had a passion for gardening, golf, decorating, and celebrating the holidays in extravagant style. She was quick with a card or note to cheer you up. She was an avid Boston sport's fan and inspired her kids to share the same conviction. Her love of the outdoors included walks, cross country skiing, golf, caring for her flowers and mowing "the hill." She spent countless hours in hockey rinks and sidelines cheering on her children and grandkids.
She was a banker and bookkeeper for many years and she and Jack took on business ventures including re-opening and running a 200 year old inn in Jackson, NH and managing the Seven Oaks Clubhouse in Hamilton, NY for 20 years.
Linda was a quiet soul who embraced life and cherished a good time with family and friends.
In keeping with her wishes, a celebration of her life will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Hamilton Booster Club, c/o Hamilton Central School. 47 W. Kendrick Ave., Hamilton, NY 13346; or to a charity of one's choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, NY.
