Pauline O. Bateman, 75, of Gorton Lake Road, Waterville, NY, passed away on April 16, 2017.
She was born on September 13, 1941 in Kingston, NY, a daughter of William and Edna Abbott Baer. She was a graduate of Clinton High School. Pauline then married Douglas Howard on June 24, 1961 in Clark Mills, NY. She was a homemaker, who also worked at Meals on Wheels, and then Presbyterian Home until her retirement. Pauline was a member of Waterville Baptist Church and enjoyed operating her ham radio, along with knitting, slippers, and dish cloths, amongst many other crafts.
Surviving are her children, Fred and Merlinda Howard of Waterville, Debrah and Scott Rogers of Knoxville, TN, and Stacie Paddock and Ken Gaetano of Raleigh, NC, son-in-law Tom Paddock of Waterville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Merwin Drake of Waterville and Jane Fletcher of Rome; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Donna Tilbe of Camden; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Douglas, a son, Brian Howard, Sr., a sister, Sandy Fletcher, and brothers, William Baer, Wesley, Larry, and Bill Fletcher.
Funeral services will be held at 4pm Saturday, April 29, 2017 from the Waterville Baptist Church.
Interment is private at the convenience of the family in Fairchild Cemetery in Remsen, NY at a later date.
Friends are invited to call at the Waterville Baptist Church on Saturday from 2 pm to 4pm prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the Waterville Baptist Church, 201 E. Main St., Waterville, NY 13480.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 210 East Main St., Waterville.
