Rodney F. Jenny, 93, formerly of Eaton and Morrisville, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility.
He was born October 7, 1923 in Rome, NY, a son of Winfield F. and Sarah M. Talbot Jenny. He was a graduate of Morrisville-Eaton High School, where he played football, and Morrisville Agricultural and Technical College where he studied animal husbandry. On October 8, 1949, Rodney married Estella Marie Neff in the Madison United Methodist Church.
Rodney’s family moved from Rome to their dairy farm in Eaton in 1940 when he was 17. He continued working on the family dairy farm until it was sold in 1976. He and Estella then moved to Morrisville and Rodney worked at Morrisville College. In the 1980’s, Rodney and Estella began to spend their winters in Florida. She predeceased him on November 15, 2010. Rodney enjoyed watching sports on TV, and enthusiastically followed the stock market. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and Grange.
Surviving are two sons Donald (Janet) Jenny of Moravia, NY; and John Jenny of
Sherrill, NY; daughter, Susan (Roy) Armenta of Farmington, NM; grandchildren, William
Todacheene, Robert (Stefanie) Todacheene; David Jenny; Heidi Todacheene; and a
great-grandchild, Dakota Todacheene; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased
two brothers; Roy (Berniece) Jenny, Claire ("Debby" Fumiko) Jenny.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville, followed by a luncheon at the Madison Baptist Church.
Interment will be in the Morrisville Cemetery in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10am to Noon prior to the service.
