Obituary for Izora M. Winton (Collins)

Izora M. Winton, 94, of Sherburne, NY passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 at UHS/Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich.
She was born June 17, 1922 in Sherburne, a daughter of Harold and Clara Wickham Collins and received her education in local schools. Izora had been married to Byron A. Winton for 61 years until he predeceased her. Mrs. Winton had worked for Chesebrough Ponds, the Utica Knitting Mill, and then T.A.C.O. in Sherburne until her retirement. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Tiandara Chapter #631 of Sherburne. She loved to knit and crochet, making afghans for all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as donating many to the American Legion and the O.E.S. for their raffles. She also enjoyed working in her posey bed, and loved to travel to the St. Lawrence River with her husband.
Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law, Richard B. Winton, Bruce H. and Sandy Winton, all of Sherburne; son-in-law, Richard Beagle of Sherburne; sister-in-law, Catherine Collins of FL; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Byron A. Winton II; daughters Brenda Beagle, Patricia Winton, and infant daughter, Jane Winton; three sisters, Helen Rundell, Mildred Ferris and Anne Boyce; and a brother, Richard Collins.
Funeral services will be held at 7pm Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-7pm prior to the service.
