Richard E. “Dick” Posson went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Utica, NY.
Dick was born on January 19, 1932 in Central Bridge, NY, to the late Foster and Esther Chaffee Posson. On January 18, 1957 Dick married his loving wife, of 59 years, Yvonne “Bonnie” Posson who survives.
Dick also leaves behind a daughter Kara Lynn Posson Reed and husband Todd of North Norwich; four sons; Richard Foster Posson and wife Melonie of Wichita Kansas; Michael H. Posson of Smyrna; Thomas W. Posson of Smyrna; David C. Posson and wife Lisa of North Norwich. He loved and enjoyed seven grandchildren – Amanda, Michael R., John E., Joshua, Emily, Noah and Elisabeth. Dick had three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is one sister Ruth Wagstaff and husband Arnie of Owego, and a brother Wayne of Florida.

Dick then moved to Melbourne, Fla in 1957, where he was a film processing technician for RCA at the Air Force Missile Test Center at Cape Canaveral. Dick’s passion was farming. Dick and Bonnie purchased a dairy farm in 1962 in North Norwich which continues to operate today. In 1970, Dick founded Posson Realty specializing in the sale of farms and land throughout central NY.
