James E. Jordan, 68, of Center Rd., Madison, NY, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at St. Luke’s Home, New Hartford, NY.
He was born March 11, 1943 in Oneida, NY, a son of Edward and Catherine Burns Jordan and graduated from Oriskany Falls High School, class of 1961. On July 16, 1966, James married Charlene M. Sherman in St. Joseph’s Church, Oriskany Falls. Jim was a heavy equipment operator, mechanic and welder, and had worked at Hanson in Oriskany Falls. He had been a self-employed dairy farmer at one time.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Oriskany Falls; and a member of the Alliance Lodge #1097 F&AM in Oriskany Falls.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Charlene; his children, Laura and John D’Amore of New Hartford; David and Kathleen Jordan of Madison; two brothers, Robert Jordan of North Bridgewater and Francis Jordan of Oriskany Falls; four grandchildren, Suzanne, Natalie and Anthony D’Amore, and Charles Jordan; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Saturday, October 1, 2011 from St. Joseph’s Church, Oriskany Falls, followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville on Friday from 7-9pm.
