Eva Miller Lamb, 89, formerly of Deansboro, NY and the Schoolhouse Apartments in Waterville, NY and most recently a resident of the Sitrin Home in New Hartford and the Harding Nursing Home in Waterville, went to heaven to join her beloved husband, Tyler, on January 23, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 22, 1922 in Cortland, NY the daughter of John and Elise Miller. She was educated in a one-room schoolhouse in North Pitcher, NY. On January 23, 1965 she married Tyler Lamb, which union lasted until his death in November of 1985. Eva worked for William and Sandy Kowalski in Utica for 40 years, and she also volunteered at the Harding Nursing Home in Waterville for approximately 15 years. She was a member of the Waterville Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Martin Morris of Madison, NY, and two brothers, Harry Martin of Cambridge, NY and William Martin of California, a niece, Patricia Morris, and her sister-in-law, Mary Lamb of Waterville, NY. She leaves behind several niece and nephews: Lila (Richard) Wormuth, Melbourne, FL; Connie (David) Lerch, Munnsville; Carol (Ray)Curtis, Eaton; Linda (Eric) Gaskins, Eaton; Kathy (Ron) Carney, Madison; Phyllis Sullivan, Vernon Center; Kenneth (Clara) Morris, Deansboro; Rick(Sandy) Morris, Eaton; Phillip (Angie) Morris, Deansboro; Marie (Bob) Spangler of Cambridge; and a sister-in-law, Alice Martin of Cambridge.
Funeral services entrusted to the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 East Main St., Waterville, will be at 6pm on Thursday, January 26, 2012, with the Rev. Mark Mincy officiating. Burial will be in the Leonardsville Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4pm to 6pm prior to the service.
