Barbara Steady Foster, 81 of Hoffman Rd., Morrisville, NY, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Crouse Community Center in Morrisville.
She was born September 19, 1929 in Burlington, VT, a daughter of Leo and Irene McCuin Steady and was a graduate of Johnson (VT) State College. Barbara married Frederick A. Foster. They enjoyed a loving union of 56 years until he predeceased her on March 8, 2004. Barbara had worked at IBM in Essex Junction, VT until her retirement in 1980. The couple moved to the Moravia, NY area in 1991, and following her husband’s death, Barbara relocated to Morrisville. She was a member of the Evangel Community Church in Chittenango, NY.
Surviving are her daughters, Gail Wells of Georgia, VT; Barbara Jeanne Foster of Granby, Quebec, Canada; and Vicki Nita of Largo, FL; a sister, Janet Haven of Burlington, VT; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Edie Davis of Morrisville; two aunts and an uncle, Beverly and Ernest Judd of Munnsville and Mary Anderson of North Haven, CT; five grandchildren, Melissa Wells, Silas Wells, III, Natasha Norins, Andy Leach and Jennifer Lacey; three great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Benham, Jacob W. Benham and Cassidy Davis Wells; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece and her husband, Robin and Luke Buell of Morrisville, who gave her constant care and loving attention. She was predeceased by her son, Michael Foster in 1997, her birth mother, Laura Davis and her parents.
A Memorial service will be held at the Evangel Community Church, Chittenango, NY on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 11:00 am.
Interment in the Essex Center Cemetery, Essex Center, VT will be at the convenience of her family.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that contributions in her memory be made to the Evangel Community Church, 500 McDonnell St., Chittenango, NY 13037.
