Condolences

Condolence From: karin welsh
Condolence: On the coming first anniversary of Jane's passing, and at this time of year when I go to the Ballston Spa cemetery and turn and cover Louise and Oscar's urn for the winter, I have been thinking of Jane. I remember the excitement and joy Louise had when Jane and Duke and later Jane and family came to visit. I can still see her face, loving her two daughters, their families and friends as she would talk about them. Someplace I have the poem Woody Payne, Louise's and family friend wrote about Louise. I think I sent it to Jane. Jane would have liked the flowers in the urn this year- the pansies flourished till almost the end of July, when portulaca and dianthus joined the perennial Jacob's ladder. I heard recently that in the old days thyme was planted over the graves. Louise and Oscar have a bed of wild thyme and it's spreading. I planted some in the urn too- such a wonderful smell and the bees love it. To all the family, our family is so glad to have been part of yours. Love, Karin, Van, Kristan, Ian and Caitlyn

Condolence: My mother, Helen Rowan Casscles, was a long-time friend of Jane's. Her husband, Clifton Casscles, worked with and was a long time friend of Duke's. When all were alive, they would socialize together. Mom always kept in touch with Jane as long as she was able and Miriam and I have continued to send her Christmas cards after mom was no longer able to do so. Mom passed in 2011. Our sincere condolences on Jane's passing. Jim and Miriam Rowan

Condolence From: karin welsh and Van Zwisohn and family
Condolence: We were neighbors of Jane's dear mother, Louise. who still lived in the house Jane was born in in Ballston Spa, New York. Jane and Duke brought joy to Louise's life as they did to those in their family. It has been our privilege to tend Louise and Oscar's grave on Jane's behalf and we had assured Jane we would continue to do so as long as we live here. Jane was a sweet person who left the world better for her being in it. Karin Welsh and Van Zwisohn and family
