Obituary for Jerry B. Cole Sr.

Jerry B. Cole, Sr., 82, of Bisby Rd., Smyrna, NY, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at his home.
He was born June 22, 1936 in the Town of Georgetown, a son of Mearl and Doris Campbell Cole, received his early education in the Smyrna school and was a graduate of Sherburne High School. On June 28, 1958, Jerry married Regina M. Musarello in Smyrna, a loving union of 60 years. Jerry was a self-employed dairy farmer his entire life until retiring. He enjoyed gardening and camping. His favorite times were those spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren and cherished great-grandchildren.
Jerry was a life-long dedicated and active member of the Smyrna community. He joined the Smyrna Volunteer Fire Department at age 18 and was currently serving as President. He was also a current member of the Smyrna Town Planning Board; a former Town Assessor; former Town Constable; past member and treasurer of the Smyrna Co-op.
Surviving are his wife, Regina; his children, Gina (David) Graham of Smyrna; Jerry Cole, Jr. and his fiancée, Shelley Bingham of Marcellus; Wendy (Michael) Marcellus of Earlville; grandchildren, Jamie (Derrick) Wilcox of Norwich; Lindsey (Jason) LeFevre of Earlville; and Ashley Townsend of Smyrna; great-grandchildren, Logan Wilcox, Brody LeFevre and Madison Townsend.
A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held from 2-5pm Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Smyrna Fire House.
Interment will be at the convenience of his family.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Smyrna Fire Department or the Smyrna Emergency Squad.
