Diane Marie Wood, 69, of Granville Hill Rd., Sherburne, NY, died Wednesday, September 26, 2018.
She was born December 23, 1948 in Patterson, NJ, a daughter of John and Joyce Martin Ruel. Diane worked at Frontier Communications in Norwich, and later in Sherburne, until retiring. It was at Frontier that she met a co-worker, Richard T. “Woody” Wood, and they were married on September 17, 1982 in Sherburne. Their favorite times were spent going to auctions and camp together. Woody predeceased her on October 31, 2014. Diane loved animals, especially her birds and dogs. She also enjoyed collecting antiques.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, J.P. and Nickie Silverstein of Bonner Springs, KS; her parents, Joyce and Leo LaChapelle of Sherburne; and her beloved granddaughters, Lacey and Addison Silverstein. She was predeceased by her father, John Ruel.
Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in St. Malachy’s Cemetery, Sherburne.
