Condolence: I met Bob while officiating with the Mark Randall Chapter of officials. We did a few meets together over the years and he was always a very friendly guy and easy to work with. He was loved by all the officials and always a true gentleman. My prayers and well wishes go out to all his family at this very difficult time. RIP Bob.

Condolence: I was hired by Colgate in the early 70s with the first women's class to teach physical education and coach swimming. I did not have much experience coaching swimming and I can't imagine a better mentor than Bob. He was truly a great teacher, motivator and supporter of students. I feel fortunate to have worked with Bob during my two years at Colgate. My thoughts are with the family.

Condolence: I'm so sorry to hear of Coach Benson's passing. He was such a good man and always remembered me when I saw him at meets. He was probably the first college coach I ever met when I was just a kid and my father introduced me to him at a college meet I went to. After that, whenever I saw him, he always had a smile and time to chat a while. I'll miss seeing him on deck. Scott Wisner
