JOAN GAY

COLUMBUS: Joan Gay, 77, of Spur St., passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 22, 1941 in New York City, a daughter of the late Emil and Elsie Schwalje Miller. She graduated from River Dell High School, Oradell, NJ. On June 7, 1986 she married William K. Gay in Ramsey, NJ. Shortly after their marriage, they settled in the New Berlin, where Joan was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her home that the couple rebuilt.
Joan was a member of the Columbus Community Church and loved collecting antiques.
She is survived by a son, Mark Nichols (Lisa Joseph) of Manhattan; a twin sister, Judy Mann of St. Louis, MO; two nephews, Brian (Tracey) Mann and their children Emily and Justin of Raleigh, NC and Jeffrey (Donna) Mann and their son Andrew of Hillsdale, NJ; and niece, Sherry (Darrell) Olmstead and their daughter Paige of St. Louis, MO.
Services will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from Columbus Community Church, 4311 St. Hwy. 80, Columbus, NY. Interment will follow in Columbus Corners Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call from 5 to 7pm on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, NY.
