Wayne R. Conklin, 63, of Romulus,NY, formerly of Madison, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 19, 2018.
He was born May 10, 1955 in Hamilton, NY, a son of Richard L. and Carolyn G. Stuttard Conklin. He graduated from Madison High School, attended Alfred ATC for two years, received his MS at SUNY Potsdam and his MBA from Buffalo State. Wayne was a lab technician at Samaritan Hospital in Watertown for four years, and then one year at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca before joining the staff of Geneva General Hospital for the past 30 years. His favorite times were spent riding his Harley and driving his pickup truck.
Wayne was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Oriskany Falls, NY.
Surviving are his mother, Carolyn “Kay” Conklin of Ocala, FL; a sister, Linda Crumb of Brooktondale, NY; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Michele Conklin of Ilion; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Richard; a brother-in-law, Paul Crumb; and a dear and life-long friend, Daryl Cook.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, NY, followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Oriskany Falls.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11am to 1pm prior to the service.
