Norman A. Barriger Jr., 77, of Falls Road, Munnsville, NY, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018 at Abraham House in Utica.He was born June 17, 1940 in Philadelphia, Pa., a son of Norman A. Sr. and Lillian Heistand Barriger. He received his early education in Madison schools and was a graduate of Morrisville High School. On Aug. 31, 1962, Norman married Joyce M. Rowe in Madison. He worked for Burton's Livestock and for Conde's in Sherrill. Norman was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid fan of the NY Yankees.Norm was a member of the United Methodist Church in Stockbridge. He was a member and former chief of the Munnsville Fire Department.Surviving are his wife of over 55 years, Joyce; his children, Connie and Shane Eddy of Batavia, Kellie Barriger of Norcross, Ga., Kittie and Michael DePasquala of Rome, Norman Barriger III of Canastota, Edward and Rachel Barriger of Boonville, Michael and Stephanie Barrier of Durham, N.C., Chad and DeDe Barriger of Oneida; a sister, Lillian Fuller of Sherburne; brothers and sisters-in-law, Stewart and Karen Barriger of Oneida, Isaac "Ike" and Jody Barriger of Maryland, Donald and Nancy Barriger of Virginia; sister-in-law, Joan Rowe of Munnsville; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his canine friends, Rascal and Maggie.He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Fuller, and a brother-in-law, Richard Fuller.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville, followed by interment in the Stockbridge Cemetery.Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service.Contributions in his memory may be made to Abraham House, 1203 Kemble St., Utica, N.Y. 13501.
