Obituary for William L. "Bill" Martin

William L. ”Bill” “Wally” Martin, 70, of Fearon Rd., Morrisville, NY, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Crouse Community Center in Morrisville.
He was born December 23, 1947 in Oneida, a son of the late Paul Truman and Dorothy Mae Hauck Martin of Peterboro and received his education in Peterboro schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On September 28, 1986, William married Pattie Ann Slatern in Pompey, NY. Wally was a chef at the Jamesville Penitentiary and Justice Center in Syracuse until retiring. He was a member of the Peterboro United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Pattie; a son, Christian Martin; a daughter, Tammy Phillips; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Mary Martin of Wampsville; brother-in-law and his wife, Kyle and Eileen Saltern of Morrisville; a granddaughter, Addie Schuse; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Patty and Hollis Doxtater; a brother, Robert Martin; and a brother-in-law, Randy Saltern.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, there are no services or calling hours.
Wally’s family wishes to extend a heart-felt “Thank You” to all the nursing staff and doctors at the Crouse Community Center for all the special care they gave him.
