Lamont B. "Monty" Clark
Lamont B. “Monty” Clark, 76, of English Ave., Eaton, NY, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
He was born on March 21, 1941 in Cazenovia, a son of the late George and Cornelius Parker Clark and grew up on the family farm in Peterboro. He received his education in Morrisville-Eaton schools. On March 29, 1969, he married Valerie Beach in Bouckville. Initially, Monty worked as a carpenter. Together with Valerie, he ran Country Attic Toys where he made furniture, and the Lighthouse Diner in Eaton. Monty later worked at the state farm at Morrisville College and as a truck driver and mechanic for JC Lucas in Cazenovia. Monty loved the outdoors, hunting, ice fishing and doing yard work. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be always in our hearts.
He was a volunteer at the Eaton Fire Department for many years, and a member of the Eaton Village Cemetery Association.
Surviving are his wife, Valerie; his sons, Lamont (Tracy) of Pinewoods; Scott (Betty) of Eaton; Curtis, and his daughters, Jasmin and Susane of Germany; Richard (Almeda) of Eaton; Christopher (Nancy) of Eaton; daughters, Jackie Mullenax (Cliff) of Lebanon; Shannon Gooring Clark of Tennessee; Nicole Clark McKelvey (Brian) of Tennessee; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister, Shirley Mennig of Peterboro and Sharon (Tim) West of Oneida; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Gloria; his brother, Robert, a great-granddaughter, Cecillia; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth “Bug” Mennig.
Services will be private at the convenience of his family with interment in the Eaton Village Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville on Wednesday February 28, 2018 from 1-3pm.
