BETTY J. SEIBERT

SHERBURNE: Betty J. Seibert, 85, of Union St., passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Binghamton General Hospital.
She was born August 17, 1932 in Utica, NY, a daughter of Ernest and Theresa Calenzo Scianna. She was a graduate of Proctor High School and received her Associates and Bachelor degrees from SUNY Utica/Rome. Betty married Richard J. Ryan at St. Agnes Church in Utica. He predeceased her in 1988. She later married David Seibert who also predeceased her. Betty had worked as a secretary for Oneida County, and then for Mohawk Valley Community College in the business office tuition department.
Betty was a communicant of St. Malachy’s Church in Sherburne where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member and officer of the CSEA in Oneida County, and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #2782 Ladies Auxiliary in Norwich.
Surviving are her son and his fiancée, David Ryan and Rose Sabia of Sherburne; two daughters, Holly Ryan York of Hubbardsville and Colleen Ryan Ayres of Sidney; her grandchildren, Jonathan Ryan, Cory Fisher, Brittney Ayers, Jared York, Chyna Simonds, Rachel Ryan, Mathew Ryan and Ashley Ryan; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Keagan and Samuel Ryan. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa Ryan, and a great grandson, Blake David Ryan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at St. Malachy’s Church in Sherburne.
Entombment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Utica, will be private at the convenience of her family.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne on Tuesday from 5-7pm.
