Lenno Mwambura Mbaga. 65, of Maple Ave., Morrisville, NY, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.
He was born April 16, 1952 in Kenya, Africa, a son of the late Mwambura and Grace Kwekwe Mwaganda Mbaga. He received his DIP at Kenya Science, received a BA and a Master's Degree at Kean University in NJ, and a second masters and eventually his PhD from Penn State University. He was a teacher in Kenya, then at the Peck School in New Jersey, and since 1997 had been an Associate Professor of wood products technology at SUNY, Morrisville. On January 5, 1996, Lenno married Cecelia Luvuno Mzungu in Bellefonte Centre County, PA. Surviving are his wife, Cecelia; his children, John Faru Mbaga, Matthew Mwambura Mbaga, Grace Pahe Mbaga,; Safina Mnyazi Mbaga; sisters, Winnie Nazi Mwambura, Gladys Mbaga and Rehema Mwambura; brothers, Richard Mwambura, Leslie Mwambura, Reitz Mwambura, Louis Mwambura, and Franklin Washe; several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the Morrisville Community Church, Swamp Road, Morrisville on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 11am to 1pm. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1pm
Burial will be in the Mbaga Family Cemetery, Kenya, Africa on February 17.
