Obituary for A. Ingrid Migonis (Fostveit)

A. Ingrid Migonis (Fostveit)
A. Ingrid Migonis, 88, of Smith Rd., Hamilton, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Crouse Community Center in Morrisville where she had resided during the past year.
She was born January 8, 1930 in Passaic, NJ, a daughter of Knute and Margot Wreidt Fostveit. She married John A. Migonis in Hamilton on November 27,1948. They had just celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary in 2017. Along with assisting John in the operation of their dairy farm, she had also worked several area jobs during the early years of their marriage, and lovingly raised their family of six children. Ingrid became an avid antique dealer in later years, with her shop, Farmside Antiques. She participated with various shop locations in the Madison Bouckville antique community. Ingrid loved to follow her children’s, and later her grandchildren’s school, music and sporting events wherever they went. She was their biggest fan and cheerleader!
Ingrid was the loving center hub of her large family. All stories and updates flowed through her and were shared with the others. A call from her meant you were caught up on the all the news involving the family farm. She was a trusted and caring friend to many who valued her time and opinion. Her generosity was overflowing and the house was often open to any friend of her children that wanted to share a meal or celebrate a holiday together. Ingrid suffered a severe stroke 11 years ago but continued to be brave, stoic, stubborn and determined. These traits helped her remain home up until this past year. She loved an adventure and we know she missed the ability to get up and go! We will miss her voice, smile, laughter and her sweet loving nature.
Surviving are her husband, John; her children, Greg and Dorothy Migonis; Nancy and Rich Jones, Marc Migonis, Sharon Migonis, Andy and Vicki Migonis, Mary Jane and Will Davis, Barbara and Bob Cook; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edgar Fostveit, and a sister, Helen Melvin. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Eric Fostveit.
Services for the family will be private. Friends are welcome to the home of Andy and Vicki Migonis, 2427 Smith Rd., Hamilton, NY from 2-4 pm Saturday, February 3, 2018.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Wanderers Rest Humane Assoc., PO Box 535, Canastota, NY 13032.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, NY.
