Janet B. Hunsinger, 79, of Madison Lane, Hamilton, NY, formerly of Earlville, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at her home
She was born August 9, 1938 in Scranton, PA, a daughter of Willard J. and Eleanor Morgan Heidig and was a graduate of Waverly High School in 1956. She married C. Jan Hunsinger in January 1958 in Waverly, PA. Janet owned and operated the Barn Door shop in Earlville for over 10 years.
Janet loved the simple things in life, a good glass of wine, Godiva chocolate, spending time in the garden or watching her story were among her favorite pleasures. Janet understood the importance of helping others and in her later years, spent much of her free time helping her Madison Lane community, offering her talents and services wherever she could make a difference.
Surviving are her children, Jan Clifford Hunsinger of Moravia; Chris Allen (Pam) Hunsinger of Queensbury; Heidi Beth (Donald) Johnson of Earlville; Todd Willard Hunsinger of Albany; brother and sisters-in-law, Willard Richard (Ann) Heidig of VA; Susan Heidig of Waverly, PA; thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Robert Heidig.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from Noon to 1pm prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Abington Hills Cemetery, Clarks Summit, PA at the convenience of her family.
