Jean Alberding Dziekan, 95, of Oriskany Falls, NY, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Waterville Residential Care Center.
Jean was born in Oriskany Falls on July 6, 1922, daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth Alberding. She attended Madison Central School where she graduated in 1939. Jean was a member of the Oriskany Falls Methodist Church for many years. She worked at the Waterville Knitting Mill and at the Utica Knitting Mill in the early years, and then for the U.S. Postal Service in Oriskany Falls where she retired. She also wrote and co-wrote a column in the Waterville Times for a number of years, telling the news of what was going on in Oriskany Falls.
Jean leaves a son, Rod Burnham and his life partner, Linda Crady of Peru, NY; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jean is predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Matthew (Irv) Dziekan; a daughter-in-law, Karen Dowd Burnham; her brother, Dr. Milton Alberding and his wife, Margaret.
In keeping with her wishes, there are no services or calling hours. Interment in the Hillside Cemetery, Oriskany Falls is private.
