Dorothy E. Howard, 93, of Howard Rd., Morrisville, NY, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at her home.
She was born May 3, 1924 in the Town of Nelson, one of six children of Frank and Cortridge Davis Evans. She was a graduate of Morrisville High School and then Morrisville Agricultural and Technical College in 1965. On February 1, 1947, Dorothy married Clifford A. Howard in the Peterboro United Methodist Church. He predeceased her on November 6, 2012. Dorothy was the secretary to the Dean of Admissions at SUNY, Morrisville until retiring. Following that, she and Clifford opened Howard Hall Farm Antiques and Flower Shop. Together, they were members of the Peterboro United Methodist Church Couples Club; the Mohican Model “A” Ford Club and a Model “T” Club. Dorothy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart.
She was a member of the Welsh Church in Nelson, NY.
Surviving are her children, Eric and Anna Howard, and Joyce Kapral, all of Canastota; Mark and Maria Howard of Oneida; and Kevin Howard of Morrisville, ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Burton, Frank, Jr., John, Harold and Robert Evans.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville, NY, followed by interment in the Union Cemetery at Welsh Church, Nelson, NY.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-7pm.
