Obituary for James A. "Jimmy" Welch

James A. "Jimmy" Welch
It is with great sadness that the family of James (Jimmy) A. Welch announce that he has unexpectedly passed away and left us to join the lord.
James was born February 20, 1965 in Utica, NY. He was the son of Lowell and Patricia Welch of West Winfield, NY. Jimmy was blessed with the love of Nina Karhnak who was a large influence in his life. Jimmy was the brother of Robert and Rhonda Welch of Rhode Island, Scott and Teri Welch of Cassville, Bethany Rogers of Leonardsville, Amy and John Krause of Brookfield, Heather Welch of West Winfield, Leticia and Scott Wicks of Baldwinsville, Deborah and Dennis Rod of North Carolina. He will also be missed by several Aunts and Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
As a young man Jimmy was an avid soccer player who also enjoyed a good game of beach volley ball and golf. He enjoyed the peacefulness of the beach and the mountains. He was the kind of man that was always willing to help family and friends and would consistently put others needs before his own.
Jimmy attended Morrisville State College and was employed as a construction worker. He loved working in the outdoors. Jimmy will be greatly missed by us all.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father Lowell Welch and a sister Stephanie Schultz.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Brookfield First and Seventh Day Baptist Church at 2:00pm. Following the service there will be a fellowship dinner to celebrate the life of Jimmy at the Johnson Rogers American Legion Post #1492 on Minor Road in Brookfield.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, NY.
