Obituary for Joan A. Krawiec (Jackson)

Joan Ann Krawiec, 82, of Chesapeake, VA, formerly of Waterville, NY, passed away September 18, 2017 after complications from dementia.
She was born in Waterville, NY in 1935, the eldest daughter of Elmer and Ann Jackson and was a graduate Waterville High School. Joan married her husband Stanley C. Krawiec, on October 23, 1954. Together they built their home on the hill on Sawyer Rd and raised three amazing sons. In 1981 they moved to Virginia Beach, VA to begin the next chapter of their lives. Joan retired from JC Penney and she and Stan moved to Chesapeake to begin their retirement in their new home. Joan loved to laugh, dance, sing and enjoy her family at every chance she had. Her family was her world. That smile could light up a room! She made many new friends in her years in Virginia, and always tried to hold her old friends close. She will be missed by so many.
Joan is survived by her husband of 63 years, Stanley; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott (Margo), Denver, CO, Kevin (Mary), Moyock, NC, Kenneth (Judy), North Richland Hills, TX. five beautiful grandchildren, Derek, of Virginia Beach, VA, Michelle (Chris) Roebuck, of Lynchburg VA, Madison attending college in Athens GA, Kyle, attending college in Phoenix , AZ and Claire attending college in Prescott, AZ also. She had 3 brothers, Rod, Don and Paul and one sister Marilyn Seeber who all preceded her in death.
A celebration of Joan’s life will take place in Waterville, NY where she began her life.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess and Tedesco Funeral Home, 210 East Main St. Waterville, NY on Sunday September 24, 2017 from 5 to 7pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 199 Stafford Ave., Waterville at 11am Monday, September 25, followed by interment at St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
