Shirley Marie Moon Morgan, formerly of Earlville, departed this life on September 6, 2017, at the age of 92.
She is survived by one brother, William Bigford; four sisters, Beatrice James, Opal Vanas, Joann Silverman and Mary Greve; one son, Daniel F. Moon and daughter-in-law, Carol Ann (Hockridge) Moon; one granddaughter Cheryl Moon Kelly (husband Raymond Kelly); one grandson, Mark K. Moon (wife Jill Crockett Moon); great grandchildren and several generations of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel F. Moon; three young sons, David, Darwin and Randy Moon; one young sister, Margarite Bigford; two brothers, Ralph and Victor Bigford; and her second husband, James I. Morgan.
Shirley was born in Central Michigan, the daughter of Myrtle (Abel) Bigford and Ira Bigford, moving as a child with her family to Central New York State, where she resided until the last few years, when she enjoyed progressively more time with her son and family near Richmond, VA.
She will now return to Earlville to be interred in the family plot where she will be with four generations of loved ones. A graveside service will be held at 11am Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in the Earlville Cemetery.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Lebanon Federated Church, 1494 Billings Hill Rd., Earlville, NY 13332, where Shirley had been a member since the 1950’s.
