ROBERT L. ANGLE, SR.
GEORGETOWN: Robert L. Angle, Sr., 76, of State Route 26, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at his home.
He was born November 21, 1940 in Norwich, a son of Millard and Lilah Louise Sanders Angle and was raised by his foster parents Charles and Gladys Wynn. He was a graduate of Sherburne-Earlville High School. On December 9, 1960, Robert married Lois Symonds in the West Smyrna Baptist Church. Robert was a truck driver and mechanic for Pacific States Trucking (PST) in Utah; Keen Transport in Carlisle, PA; was a school bus driver for Sherburne-Earlville Central School, and most recently, was a vehicle transport driver for Matthews Ford in Norwich. He enjoyed watching TV westerns, was a nature lover and a bird watcher. He had a big heart and was always willing to help anyone in need.
Robert was a member of the West Smyrna Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Lois; his children, Robert L. ”Rob”, Jr. and Shelley Angle of Parsons, KS; Philip and Anne Angle of Solvay; a sister, Rebecca Heath of NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Myrtle Angle of New Berlin; Alan and Isabell Angle of Norwich; a granddaughter, Victoria Leigh Angle of Bridgeport; many nieces, nephews and his foster family. Four brothers and a sister predeceased him.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the West Smyrna Baptist Church, Route 80, Smyrna, followed by interment in the Willcox Cemetery, Smyrna.
Friends are invited to call at the church from 11am until Noon prior to the service.
