Irene E. LoGerfo, 83, of Barton Ave., Utica, NY, formerly of Oxford, NY, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford.
She was born February 22, 1934 in the Bayridge section of Brooklyn, NY a daughter of William and Margaret Johnson Shea and was a graduate of Newtown High School in Queens. On April 6, 1957, Irene married Michael R. LoGerfo in Elmhurst, NY. They spent several winters in Florida before he predeceased her on December 15, 2008. Irene was a homemaker who devoted her life to caring for her family. She was fond of thrift shopping and antiques.
Irene was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Norwich and the Women’s Group of the church. She was a master gardener and a member of the Oxford Area Garden Club.
Surviving are her children, David LoGerfo of Norwich; Richard LoGerfo of Vestal; Karin and Paul DelSignore of Wanaque, NJ; Mark and Christina LoGerfo of Staten Island; Stephen LoGerfo of Norwich; and Michelle LoGerfo of Homer; a sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Buddy Hill of Scotch Plains, NJ; eight grandchildren, including her granddaughter Arianne and husband Robert D’Angelo, with whom she lived in Utica; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Wilma Toth, Margaret Shea and Helen DiBernardo.
Memorial Services will be held at 3pm Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment will be private at the convenience of her family.
