John A. Rausa, 63, of Madison Lane, Hamilton, NY, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 at his home.
He was born January 29, 1954 in Utica, a son of Antonio “Tony” J. and Josephine LaPiccolo Rausa. A lifelong Hamilton resident, John had worked at his parents’ store, Rausa’s Tobacco Shop in Hamilton. He enjoyed reading sports magazines and was an avid fan of the NY Yankees. John was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Hamilton.
Surviving are his cousins, Tom (Sandy) Rausa of Cincinnatus; Rosano (Nita) Rausa of Vienna, VA; Marie (Steve) Rausa of Wickwire, NC; Tina Rausa (Marvin Bjurlin) of Fredonia, NY. He was predeceased by his father in 2008 and his mother in 2016.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at St. Mary’s Church, 16 Wylie St., Hamilton, followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hamilton.
There are no calling hours.
