Condolence: So sorry for your family's loss. Hugh was a pleasure to know and to work with. He had a knack of persuasion by supplying hints and adding information. His compassion for "contextualizing previous generations" is shared one. His travels were wide and full of discovery. He was one of the great teachers, married to another great teacher, and one of the heads of a great family that I was lucky enough to get to know.
