Charles W. Angier, 80, of Deansboro, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2017.
He was born on February 29, 1936 in Utica, the son of the late George and Rita Phillips Angier. Charles was a proud member of the United States Army. On June 7, 1958, he married Cecilia Clipston, his beloved wife of 58 years. He began his employment at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome before becoming a successful self-employed truck driver known as “The Green Hornet”. He was also employed by the Town of Marshall Highway Department.
He is survived by the love of his life, Cecilia; sons and daughter-in-law, Charles and Kathleen Angier of Waterville; Carl Angier of Clinton; three grandchildren, Michael Angier of Melbourne, FL; Stephanie Angier of Waterville and Dale Angier of Waterville; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jordynn and Logan of Melbourne, FL; two sisters and a brother, Joyce Smith of Cocoa Beach, FL; Mary Hauck of Simi Valley, CA; and Dennis Angier of Winnetka, CA. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters, John, Robert and George Angier, Bernice Griffin and Joan Griffiths.
Memorial services will be held at 5pm Thursday, January 19, 2017 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home (Kloster & Northrop Memorial Chapel), 210 E. Main St., Waterville, NY.
Interment is private at the convenience of his family.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-5pm prior to the service.
A celebration of Charles’ life will be held at the Clifford J. Fulmer American Legion Post in Sangerfield following the service.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Heart Assoc., the American Cancer Society, or a charity of one’s choice.
