Lee D. Urben, 65, of State Route 12, Hubbardsville, NY, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.
He was born December 24, 1951 in Oneida, NY, a son of Lee S. and Kathleen Brainard Urben and was a graduate of Hamilton High School. On February 28, 1971, Lee married Leslie Taylor in Brookfield. He had been a truck driver for Valley Propane in Madison until retiring due to ill health. Previously, he had been a farmer with his dad, a welder, and had worked for the Town of Madison.
Lee was a member of the Hubbardsville Fire Department for over 49 years.
Surviving are his wife, Leslie; his children, Vicki Lynn Urben of Washington, DC; Jodi and Chris Hawkinson of Knoxboro, NY; and Doug Urben of Hubbardsville; grandchildren, Courtney Leigh Hawkinson of Knoxboro and Douglas Lee Urben of Hubbardsville; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Jerry Case and their children, Jerry, Jr., Karrie and Taylor Case. He was predeceased by a sister.
A celebration of Lee’s life will be held at a later date.
