LOUISE M. ISBELL
Louise M. Isbell, 84, of West Eaton and West Winfield, passed away March 16, 2016 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford.
She was born April 23, 1931 in the Town of Nelson, a daughter of Howard C. and Ruth M. Sabine Woodcock, and was a graduate of Morrisville-Eaton High School. On June 24, 1951, Louise married Ronald J. Isbell in West Eaton. Louise was the Postmaster in West Winfield from 1979 until her retirement in 1995. She enjoyed quilting and reading. She traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad. She was also a Red Cross volunteer who helped with disaster relief in the United States anywhere she was needed.
Louise was a member of the Quilt Club, the Garden Club, and the Fortnightly Book Club all in West Winfield. She was also a board member of the West Winfield Library and a member of NAPUS.
Surviving are her husband, Ronald; her children, Kathleen Cross of Eaton; Michael Isbell of West Eaton; Kelly and Jackson Sterle of Eaton; five grandchildren, Jessica Cross of Eaton; Tyler and Larsyn Cross of Charleston, SC; Shawn Isbell of Vail, CO; Justin Isbell of Cazenovia; Rory Larkin and his fiancée, Nikki Reilly of San Diego, CA; two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Riley; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Riley F. Isbell in 1980, and a brother, Kenneth H. Woodcock, Sr. in 2009.
Services and interment in the Eaton Village Cemetery are private at the convenience of the family.
