Obituary for Elsie F. Sanders (Marble)

Elsie F. Sanders, 95, of Deansboro, NY passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the Katherine Luther Residential Healthcare Facility in Clinton.
She was born at the Marble Family Farm near Latham Corners, NY on February 15, 1919, a daughter of Fred T. and Carrie Shaw Marble. She received her early education in a one-room schoolhouse and graduated from Mt. Upton High School. Elsie continued her education at the Crouse Irving School of Nursing, graduating with the Class of 1941. In 1942, she married Air Force Sergeant Christopher Richter who predeceased her in 1955. Following his death, Elsie moved to Greene, NY to be near her family. In 1962, she married Arthur Sanders of Deansboro, and together they ran the Lamplighter Shop at the Musical Museum in Deansboro. She enjoyed painting and was a talented artist.
Elsie was a member of the United Church of Christ in Deansboro and the Garden Club.
Surviving are her husband, Arthur; a son Gary Richter of Camino Island, WA; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and John Gibbons of Deansboro; her grandchildren, Scott and Lisa Richter, and Jessica Richter, all of WA; Carla and Gary Brown of Rochester; Amy Jacobson and Michael Normand of Millstone Township, NJ; Patricia and Gerald McConnell, Jr. of Deansboro; great-grandchildren, Arthur, Emily, Jacob, and Gavin Normand; Benjamin and David Brown; and Dylan McConnell. She was predeceased by a sister, Frieda Lawson, and a brother, Floyd Marble. In keeping with Elsie’s wishes, there are no calling hours.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Deansboro Fire Department.
