Ronald E. Yafchak, 78, of Whites Corners Rd., Bouckville, NY, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.
He was born April 12, 1935 in Latrobe, PA, a son of Frank and Rose Piantini Yafchak and was a graduate of Latrobe High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from 1958 to 1960. On February 17, 1978, Ronald married Sarah Peacher in Syracuse. Ron was a barber at Samson and Co. in Syracuse until retiring. He was a member of the Cazenovia Golf Club.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah; children, Lynn Yafchak of Las Vegas, NV; and Melissa Yafchak of Dallas, TX; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary and Kevin Miricle of Cortland, and Patricia Yafchak of Albany; brother and sister-in-law, Fran and Carol Yafchak of Liverpool; grandchildren, David, Brittney, Breanna, Gabriella and Jason; great-grandchild, Brayden; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Keith Yafchak in 2006, and a daughter, Debbie Stolo in 1999.
A Memorial Service with military honors will be held at 4pm Friday, September 13, 2013 from the Bouckville United Methodist Church, Route 20, Bouckville, NY.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
