Nora K. Oliver, 62, of State Route 8, West Winfield, NY, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica.
She was born July 6, 1951 in Sacramento, CA, a daughter of Orwill and Margaret Latus Risley. She was a graduate of Brookfield High School and the Utica School of Commerce. On July 16, 1977, Nora married Robert K. Oliver in the Town of Brookfield. Nora had worked in telemarketing and for the Norwich Shoe Co. for several years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose life was devoted to caring for her family. She enjoyed reading and playing cards with friends.
Surviving are her husband Bob; her children, Christopher and Carrie Oliver, and Robert K. Oliver, Jr. all of West Winfield; Michael and Shontel Oliver of Waterville; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Ken Rose of Little Falls; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Janet Risley of Brookfield; Fred Risley of Utica; Matt Risley of FL; three grandchildren, Thomas, Emily and Genevee; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and –nephews; as well as many special friends. A sister, Michelle Hungerford predeceased her in 1985.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Monday, August 12, 2013 from the Kloster & Northrop Memorial Chapel at Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, followed by interment in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Waterville.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday from Noon to 2pm prior to the service.
