Charles E. “Ned” Ireland, 54, of Clayville, NY, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012 at home with his family by his side.
He was born April 21, 1958 in Utica, a son of Charles M. and April Hahle Ireland. Following his graduation from Waterville Central School in 1977, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. After his distinguished military service, he worked in the roofing and general construction trades.
Ned was a member of St. Bernard’s Church in Waterville. He was a former member of the American Legion.
Surviving are his partner and the love of his life for 20 years, Sharon Harp; his mother, April Urben; his children, Sunshine Moran, Star-lite Reed, Joshua Harp, Jason Harp and Jonathan Ireland; seven granddaughters, sisters and brothers, JoAnn Ballard, Teresa Costello, Elizabeth Keller, David Ireland, Mary St. Pierre, Frank, Michael and Guy Urben; in-laws, Calvin and Eileen Bidwell, Neil, Dale and Aaron Bidwell and Karen Kelly; a special cousin, Jamie Windover, and a very special granddaughter. He was predeceased by his father, Charles; step-father, Sig Urben, and a sister-in-law, Wanda Bidwell.
Funeral services will be held at 8pm Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville. Interment with military honors will be in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Waterville in the spring.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8pm.
