Betty F. Zebrowski, 86, of Cole Hill Rd., Hubbardsville, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 22, 2012 after a courageous four-year battle with cancer, with her loving family and her feline companion, Cici at her side.
She was born in Utica on January 31, 1926 and received her education in local schools. On January 24, 1962, Betty married Joseph J. Zebrowski in Baltimore, MD. They purchased the Sangerfield Inn which they operated from 1960 until retiring in 1987. Previously, Betty had worked at G.E. in Utica for many years, which is where she and Joe met. They enjoyed spending their winters in Florida for over 30 years. Betty was a true inspiration to all who knew her. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She loved mowing her lawn and going to the casino. She was a member of the Waterville Bowling Association and was a top bowler in the Utica area.
Surviving are her children, Diane (Minnard) and DeWitt Head of Hubbardsville; David and Linda Zebrowski of New York Mills; and Joseph Zebrowski of Clark Mills; twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, many dear friends, and her cat, Cici. Her brother, Edward “Buster” Francisco predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday, October 29, 2012 from the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, with her great-nephew, Timothy Francisco officiating.
Interment will be in the Graham Cemetery, Hubbardsville.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday 2-5 pm.
